Deerdate — Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Deerdate is a dating app for adults. These are our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). They apply to the Deerdate app, deerdate.com, and anyone who uses either.

Age

Deerdate is for people aged 18 and over. We ask for year of birth during sign-up and do not let anyone younger finish creating an account. If we learn that a child is using Deerdate, we remove the account.

What we prohibit

The following are banned on Deerdate, with no exceptions:

This is not a grey area. Romantic interest between consenting adults is what the app is for. Anything involving a child is not.

How to report

In the app. Report is one tap from a person, a chat, or a table. You do not need to find a settings page. You can also block the person at the same time.

By email. Write to hello@deerdate.com with "child safety" in the subject. Use this if you cannot use the in-app report, or if you are reporting something that is not tied to one account.

We look at every safety report within 24 hours.

What we do when we know

When we have actual knowledge of CSAE or CSAM on Deerdate we:

  1. Remove the content.
  2. Disable or delete the account that posted it.
  3. Keep a record of the report and the action we took.
  4. Report confirmed CSAM to the relevant national authority, and to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) where that applies.

We do not wait for a second report. One confirmed case is enough.

Laws

Deerdate complies with child safety laws that apply to us, including the duty to report confirmed CSAM to the authorities named above. We cooperate with lawful requests from those authorities.
